National Coalition for Literacy *Supporting Adult & Family Literacy, Adult Education and English Learning* Good morning NCL Board Members... Great board meeting yesterday! Firstly, let's welcome our two new members who were both unanimously and enthusiastically approved to serve on the NCL board: 1. Marcela Movit, Goodling Institute for Research in Family Literacy 2. Jen Vanek, World Education They are now both connected to this member list. Secondly, and the reason for my email this morning, is to let all board members know that at our board meeting next month, we will finalize NCL's strategic plan so that we can launch it in January 2026. *Our board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th from 10-11:30 a.m., we decided to lengthen it to 12:00 noon.* I'll send an updated calendar invite with the expanded time. Please make every effort to attend this important board meeting. In preparation for this meeting, I'll be sending you a shared folder via google drive that will include all of the information we've gathered through this process that will guide our decision making. (I will do this after our final meeting next Wednesday with the action planning subgroups.) It will be especially critical to make any changes that we want to our membership categories and dues structure in preparation for our 2026 membership drive, which kicks off in January (as NCL's membership year is January - December).
